Drake & J. Cole Shock Fans With A Surprise Announcement

Drake and J. Cole are coming with that heat in Summer 2019!

The rappers made it official with a surprise "new music" announcement during the final night of Drake's seven-day run at London's O2 Arena for his "Assassination Vacation Tour."

After Drake brought Cole out to perform his latest hit "Middle Child" Thursday night (April 11), Cole praised his fellow MC, calling Drake a "top five" rapper, "if not, God*amn arguably the best rapper to ever come in this motherf**ker."

Champagne Papi returned the high praise with a few laudatory words of his own about Mr. Cole. "Listen, I'm gonna tell you one thing about me and this guy right here," Drake told the London crowd. "When I think of all my earliest memories when we were doing this shit... this is just for anybody... that has a dream, that has a vision. When I think of all my earliest memories there was always one guy that was always right there doing the same thing as me. Taking care of his people, showin' love, and it’s this man right here. He hasn't changed since the first day I met him."

"I can't wait to make some new music with you," he teased. "I know we been working. I can't wait to let these people hear it."

Drake' and Cole's announcement came just two days after Drake told another London crowd that he's started working on his new album — the follow-up to his last record, Scorpion, which dropped last Summer.

"I kinda actually started last night to be honest with you," he's heard saying fan-filmed video. "But I think what I’ma do after this is go home, and I’ma make a new album so I can come back to London next year and we can do this again."

The Canadian rapper had an eventful week at The O2. In addition to teasing his new album, and announcing new music with Cole, Drake also hinted that a follow-up to his and Future's 2015 collaborative mixtape, What a Time to Be Alive, is on the way.

After bringing out Future for one of his first London shows last week, Drake and the Atlanta rapper hopped on Instagram to tease an upcoming project. "What's that?" Drake said in the video as he held up two fingers, seemingly hinting that What a Time to Be Alive part two is on the way. "We gotta cook that up. That two."

"It's already cooked up," Future responded. "Top secret."
