East Syracuse, N.Y. - A new coronavirus test site will soon be up and running in Onondaga County.
It'll be located in the parking lot of the Walmart in East Syracuse. County Executive Ryan McMahon says the site will prioritize testing people who work at nursing homes and also first-responders.
The site is being run by Quest Diagnostics. They are the group that the County initially used to get tests results from, but moved in a different direction after it took them too long to get results turned around.
People with symptoms of the illness can also get screened if they meet the proper guidelines.
McMahon said Wednesday the testing site could open as soon as Friday, but nothing is official yet.
