This is a story that happens more than we know. Young men of color being blamed for crimes they did not commit. This 4 part series from acclaimed director Ava DuVernay shows the evil underbelly of a justice system out of control. I remember when this was a current case and seeing all the news coverage that told of indisputable evidence that these young men were guilty of rape and attempted murder. I can't even pretend to imagine the fear and pressure these young men felt to confess to a crime that they didn't commit. This series, entitled When They See Us, brings back all the uneasiness that I felt when this situation was in the news. It also makes me think of how many times this same scenario has played out, but never brought to light. This series is an eye-opener that will make us question how justice is meted out (or not) in our society.
