Hours after Kanye West sent out a barrage of tweets that worried his fans, friends, and family, the 43-year-old rapper returned to Twitter on Tuesday (July 21) with an update: his longtime friend Dave Chappelle flew to Wyoming to check-in on him.
"THANK YOU DAVE FOR HOPPING ON A JET TO COME SEE ME DOING WELL DAVE YOU ARE A GOD SEND AND A TRUE FRIEND ALL LOVE," Kanye captioned the video.
In the footage, Ye asks Dave to "please just make us smile, the world needs some, we need some joy, we need to smile."
"The brotherhood is real. The love is real," Dave says, to which Kanye hilariously replies: "Wait a second. I'm still not smiling, bro. We need some joke, something. Something to like lift our spirits."
"Sh*t, I don't know. I'm still on my first cup of coffee... let me think of a good joke," Dave says before walking off camera.
"Don't stop recording," Kanye instructs the cameraman as he turns to encourage Dave to come up with something to say. "We need you."
"An uplifting joke? You know I don't write them," Dave tells Ye, who then bursts into laughter.
Kanye then lets him off the hook, saying, "that was good right there. That was it."
The clip ends with Kanye hugging Dave and telling him "thanks for coming out and checking on me."
"Anytime, bro," Dave says.
“Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up with a doctor,” he wrote. “If I get locked up like Mandela… Ya’ll will know why.” At one point, he even compared his life to the movie Get Out, tweeting, “Everybody knows the movie get out is about me."
Ye's comments came a day after he broke down during his first campaign rally for his 2020 presidential bid as he revealed that he and Kim considered getting an abortion when she found out she was pregnant with their first child, North, in 2013.
