Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas was arrested on July 30 and is now facing federal charges for allegedly running an illegal gambling operation out of his Encino, California, home.
Shortly after his arrest, Arenas went live on social media and commented on the situation in a way that left fans stunned. He seemed unfazed by the charges and even joked about how he would handle the case in court.
“Good luck in court,” Arenas said during the livestream. “I’m pretty sure I ain’t gonna be there when it’s starting to go down, ’cause yeah… I’m snitching.”
His comments quickly went viral, with many people unsure whether he was serious or just being sarcastic.
Arenas is scheduled to appear in court on September 23 for the start of his trial.
