According to Deadline, Ms. Combs says the docuseries includes “lies” that were “intentionally done to mislead viewers and further harm our reputation.” One of the biggest claims she disputes came from Bad Boy Records co-founder Kirk Burrowes, who alleged that Diddy once slapped his own mother and called her a derogatory name. Janice says none of that is true and that the documentary is exploiting her family for shock value and ratings.
The docuseries itself has become one of Netflix’s most discussed and dissected projects of the year, as viewers debate whether it reveals long-hidden truths or unfairly builds a narrative without Diddy’s voice on record. Diddy declined Netflix’s offer to be interviewed for the film.
